Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is located seven miles from downtown Philadelphia. You may travel from the airport to the hotel by regional rail or taxi.

From the airport on SEPTA

The most convenient way to travel from the airport to the hotel is via the SEPTA Airport train, which operates from 5:25 AM until 11:25 PM daily, with trains leaving every 30 minutes to Market East station ($7 each way).

After landing, you will walk through a concourse toward baggage claim.  Along the way, you will pass over the train tracks, and there will be an escalator leading down to the train platform.  If you already have your baggage, hop on the next train.  If you have baggage to pick up, continue down the concourse to the escalator leading down to the baggage claim level, pick up your baggage, then return to the concourse and walk back toward the terminal to the escalator leading down to the SEPTA train platform.

From the Market East station, exit in the direction of the Convention Center and follow the signs to Market Street.  (Note: escalators are available for the trip up but not down.  There is an elevator if you need one.)  When you exit onto Market Street, the Loews Hotel will be to your right, at the intersection of Market and 12th Street. (See the map below.)

From the airport in a taxi

Taxis can be picked up at Zone 5 on the Commercial Transportation Roadway.  Ask to be taken to the Loews Hotel 1200 Market Street.  There is a $28.50 flat rate from the airport to the Central Philadelphia Area. All taxi rates are based per trip not per person. Most taxis can accommodate up to 3 passengers; in some cases certain vehicle types can accommodate 4 passengers.

Philadelphia is served by Amtrak, New Jersey Transit, and the Southeast Pennsylvania Transit Authority. 30th Street Station (30th and Market, 1.3 miles west of the hotel) is the primary rail station, with regular Amtrak service. Take a taxi  to the Loews Hotel at 1200 Market St., at the corner of Market and 12th (about $10, including tip) or a SEPTA Regional Rail train to Market East station (any eastbound train, two stops; free with Amtrak ticket stub; otherwise, $4.00). See under "From the airport on SEPTA" (above) for directions to the hotel from Market East.

Greyhound and Trailways buses provide service to Philadelphia. The bus station is located at 1001 Filbert Street, about 2 blocks east and 1 block north of the Loews Hotel. Several bus companies offer special fares for express bus service from Washington DC, Boston and New York (as low as $20 round trip). See, for example, the BoltBus and MegaBus. (Note: the Megabus stops at 6th and Market, six blocks from the hotel. The Bolt stops only at 30th St Station, twelve blocks from the hotel.)

Downtown Philadelphia is a short distance from Interstates 95 and 76. Use Google Maps or Mapquest to plot your driving route.

From the north, take the Schuylkill River Trail into the city. When you reach Center City, take the ramp from the bike trail up to Market St.  The hotel is at the intersection of 12th and Market.  Bike racks are occasionally found in Center City. Be advised to bring a lock.
